Artists: Ram Dass & Awaré
This otherworldly collection of songs transports listeners to the space between worlds. This album was born in the weaving of creativity and healing as Ram Dass learned to process the grief of losing his newborn son. Ram Dass has devoted much of his career inviting musicians to create music through intimate musical conversations as a producer. This project allowed Ram Dass to express his own vulnerability through music. Ram Dass is joined by the duo AWARÉ on this project. Bogdan Djukic on violin and percussion with Matías Da Via on vocals, the three musicians invite you to embrace your humanity and find a path toward healing and joy.
Ram Dass experiences music as spiritually and emotionally restorative. His music opens the heart and stirs the soul. As a producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, he inspires a unique potency through collaboration and improvisation that creates art greater than the sum of its parts. His constant dedication to render the beauty of human experience, triumph, tragedy, and beyond, has led him to the world stage. He performed at the 2019 GRAMMY Awards, has played at Carnegie Hall, and continues to perform at venues around the world every year.
Ram Dass is at the forefront of a movement of musicians aiming to bring healing and solace to the world.
Born into a family of professional musicians, Ram Dass was raised to appreciate all musical genres and find the unique nuances of every song and composition he heard. He developed a near-encyclopedic knowledge of wide swaths of the musical landscape, which he calls upon to create novel and moving approaches to music production and songwriting.
Awaré is a duo of dear friends, Matías da Via and Bogdan Djukic, joining in a life journey exploring the subtle space in music, playing the strings of the mind-heart connection in a congruent resonance of individual and global truth.
Bogdan Djukic: An award-winning violinist in his native Yugoslavia, he received a grant to the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto Canada where he embarked on a journey filled with musical collaborations. Winning awards and acclaim as part of the band ‘Beyond the Pale’ and as a solo performer with Live Nation with his stage show ‘Bowfire,’ he traveled the world with his music, finally landing in Tulum, Mexico where he fell in love with intuitive creation: composing while playing live and going deeper into explorations of sonority, frequencies and subtle spaces.
Matías da Via: A self-taught musician, his voice is its own beautiful musical instrument. He has explored the power of sound and frequency through instruments and his mission is to reconnect his audiences to their inner voice, allowing each individual to find themselves in the notes he strings together.
